Online service for obtaining and renewing a driver's license
Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the e-service for obtaining and renewing driving licenses without having to visit the transport offices in person.
In the Home Grant application for the year 2021-22, it was announced that the Aadhar card will be used as an identification document to provide services such as obtaining a driver's license, renewing a driver's license and changing a driver's license without having to make direct contact with the public transport offices.
Accordingly, services such as obtaining a driver's license, renewing a driver's license and changing the address on a driver's license can be accessed at www. Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the facility through the website parivahan.gov.in. This will ensure that the service provided to the public is simple, transparent and quick to implement, and will reduce the hassle of the public visiting the Regional Transport Offices.
How To Apply For A Driving License Online?
Step 1: Visit the website of the Ministry of Transport at www.parivahan.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the Online Services tab on the homepage. A menu for multiple services will appear.
Step 3: In that menu, select 'Driving License Related Services'.
Step 4: Then select your 'State'
Step 5: Select ‘Apply Driving License’ and fill up the application form. Then you have to upload all the documents related to the driving license.
Step 6: In addition, there are many other services such as New Learner License or Services / Renewal and Duplicate (Services On Driving License / Replacement, Duplicate, Other). You can choose the service you want from these.
In particular, birth certificate, 10th class certificate, voter ID card, replacement certificate, proof of address, passport, family card, Aadhar card and photograph are the most important documents required.
After uploading the documents, apply. You will now receive a certificate of acknowledgment. Print it out. Print your acknowledgment certificate, Form 1I and Form 1A. They have changed the method of depositing the fee for your upload. Accordingly you can pay the fee online and get your learner's license by going to the nearest RDO office.
